Burial Plot Options

Changes in trends in cemeteries in recent years have seen lawn graves become more popular than traditional monument graves.  If you are choosing a burial, the following information will assist you in selecting the type of grave you require.

The graves listed below are available at most cemeteries.

Monument Graves

(Old Sections at Karori, Taita, Akatarawa, and Porirua Cemeteries )
In most cemeteries where monumental work is permitted, restrictions apply to the type of construction and materials which are used.

Lawn Headstone Graves

Available at Karori, Makara, Taita, Akatarawa, and Whenua Tapu cemeteries, these are of a standard design and provision is made for a separate headstone for each grave.

Lawn Plaque Graves

Available at Karori, Makara, Taita, Akatarawa, and Whenua Tapu cemeteries. These are of a standard design and provision is made for a separate plaque for each grave. Plaques may be ordered at any of our offices. There are some restrictions as to whether they are made of Bronze or Granite.
