Sheryl (nee Wooller) was born in Wellington and educated at Kilbirnie School and Wellington East Girls’ College. She has been on the fringe within the funeral industry for 51 years, as her husband was previously a funeral director. They have two adult children, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

In August 1994, Sheryl joined Harbour City Funeral Home to assist with the administration side of the company. After several months, she was invited to expand her role by becoming a funeral director.

Over the past 28 years, Sheryl has witnessed the company grow, both in terms of professionally trained staff and in the improvements in facilities, client options, and the bereavement support offered to clients. Working across different branches has allowed Sheryl to provide ongoing support and assistance to clients, which she truly enjoys.

With her life experiences as a friend, wife, mother, and grandmother, as well as having personally faced the loss of loved ones, Sheryl has developed a strong empathy for those she encounters.

In her personal time, Sheryl enjoys spending time with her family, who conveniently live in the Wellington region.
